MSA 101 - The Basics

Multiple System Atrophy (MSA) is a neurodegenerative disease that directly affects the brain systems responsible for movement, balance, and automatic body functions. Because of this, movement becomes progressively difficult and is eventually lost for many people living with MSA.

When people walk, run, cycle, or move for MSA, they are moving in honor of those whose ability to move is being taken away by the disease. Each step represents support for individuals and families living with MSA.

Movement events also help bring attention to a rare and often misunderstood disease. Seeing people participate sparks conversations and helps more people learn about Multiple System Atrophy.

Every mile and every step symbolizes progress toward better treatments and ultimately a cure. Movement represents the determination of the community to keep moving forward until MSA is defeated.

Together we move. Together we cure.

• We move to raise awareness.
• We move with hope for a cure.

Together we move. Together we cure.
